3D modeling at Interflow for clean air solutions

At Interflow it's all about clean air. Clean air is necessary to provide product and personal protection in controlled areas. The Dutch company, located in Wieringerwerf, North Holland, specializes in advising, designing, realizing and validating operating rooms, cleanrooms and laminar flow units (LAF units). In addition to the Dutch healthcare sector, they also serve the High Tech semiconductor industry and international pharmaceutical companies. Our mechanical engineers were recently allowed to support the company.

3D modeling

One of Interflow's recent projects is the introduction of parametric 3D modeling. George Ghusen, one of our mechanical engineers, is involved in this. He works in the LAF department, where different types of LAF units are designed and prepared for production.

George explains: “Until recently, Interflow mainly worked with 2D drawings in AutoCAD, but the need to adapt products more quickly to customer wishes and growing market demand led to the transition to Autodesk Inventor. This allows them to convert products into parametric 3D models, enabling 'Configure To Order' (CTO) and easily implementing customer-specific adjustments.”

The investment in a new processing cell, consisting of an automatic plate warehouse, CNC machine and a division saw, marks a further step in Interflow's production efficiency. In the long term, orders will be sent directly from engineering to the production machine via CAD/CAM integration.

Investing to innovate

The investments in advanced manufacturing processes demonstrate how Interflow innovates to meet the ever-changing needs of their customers. We are proud that we can play a role in this.
