WarmUP

The beta version of the Design Toolkit was developed by TNO and Deltares in the WarmingUP program and has now been successfully deployed in various municipalities and regions. To illustrate, Roland van Rooyen from the municipality of Rotterdam shared his experiences with the Toolkit from the current project that looks ahead to the role of collective heat in Rotterdam in 2050.

The morning ended with a lively panel discussion with Tirza van Daalen (TNO), Goaitske de Vries (Deltares) and Flip van der Valk (The People Group) led by chairman Frits Verheij. An important conclusion was that open source, transparent tools and datasets are essential for the heat transition. To make and keep this available, management, support and further development are required. The panel members primarily see a role for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy here.
