Unreal Engine training for professionals

The digital world is evolving at enormous speed and organizations are faced with the challenge of working with increasingly complex (public) data. We believe that the power of visualization is crucial here. This is where Unreal Engine comes into the picture. We spoke to sales manager Bert Straver, who provided insight into why The People Group has chosen to offer Unreal Engine training and how they do this.

Why the decision to offer Unreal Engine training?

“More and more organizations are using widely varying public or proprietary data sources from different suppliers to conduct analyses. This in itself is nothing new, but the way to present the results of analyzes in a professional and contemporary manner is a completely different story.

By using Unreal Engine (or Twinmotion) you are able to present matters in a lifelike manner within a virtual environment, allowing you to give stakeholders a realistic insight into an existing or new situation. Consider, for example, a new residential area, a roundabout to be constructed, an improvement plan for a district or neighborhood in which local residents have a say, a simulation of wind turbines yet to be installed and their effects on the environment or the presence of flora and fauna in a specific area. A good visualization says more than a thick report and helps give people insight on which they can make a sound and well-considered decision.

From our Academy we already provide training in MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, Optimize NLCS and MicroStation 3D. The Unreal Engine basic training courses are a valuable addition to our existing offering. This allows us to help our customers take a step further in their internal services.”

Who are the training courses intended for?

“The Unreal Engine basic training is suitable for enthusiastic professionals who want to work with data and master the fundamentals of Unreal Engine 5. Whether you work in a (semi-) government, in (landscape) architecture, urban planning, or project development, our basic training provides the essential knowledge to bring your ideas to life in a virtual environment.

We offer the Twinmotion basic training for professionals who have less time to delve into this, but still want to achieve good results. This is an accessible way to experience the power of Unreal Engine. With its user-friendly interface, it offers an extensive library of materials, objects and environments, allowing you to effortlessly compose realistic scenes.”

What are the benefits of our training approach?

“We can draw on years of experience in providing various training courses. Within our Academy we only use certified trainers of the relevant software products.

But what really sets us apart is that we spend a lot of time on customer questions at the start of the process. We look at the customer's wishes and translate them into tailor-made training. This allows us to avoid surprises and offer training that is 100% tailored to your needs.

At Unreal Engine we also offer on-site customization/consultancy in combination with the training. The trainer who has provided the basic training then visits the organization to provide on-site instruction and/or to participate in a project that the customer wants to carry out. We can then focus 100% on customer needs and transfer knowledge in our own environment.

We now also use this concept in a number of our other training courses and this appears to be a good transition from theoretical knowledge to practical application.”
